BEGINNERS

 

Everyone has to start somewhere, you may have played an instrument before or you may be new to music. It’s important when starting out to have fun with the guitar and set small goals. I do my best not to overwhelm new students with information and lay a solid foundation in the basics from which to progress.

 

When beginning lessons I will ask you what types of bands, artists or songs you like to listen to, or would like to play and prepare lessons based on this. There are set areas that I will teach each student, at the beginner stage these are things such as open chords and basic barre chords, reading tablature charts and lyric sheets, playing basic lead lines, building song repertoire, developing the ear, the anatomy of the guitar how to use relevant equipment and more. All of these areas are presented in a way that’s relevant to the musical interests and goals of the individual. I can also be flexible with my teaching style and if there is a specific direction you would like the lessons to go in I am open to it.

 

All lessons are clearly and coherently written out using sheet music editing software ‘Guitar Pro’ and all other relevant files, mp3’s and links are emailed over at the end of the lesson.
